- Be willing to look dumb and ask dumb questions, if you have doubt in x then it's quite likely that other people have the same doubt. Be the one to ask.
- Don't fool yourself into thinking that you understand x-thing when you don't really get it.
- Get direct experience with x before forming an opinion on it. If experience is not possible then try to get as detailed info as possible and work on your understanding from there.
- Thinking is hard work, try to think more about anything you want to get better at. Solved it one way? Try thinking of different ways to solve it if time permits.
- Go slow, absorb, assimilate. Read slowly, think slowly, really spend time thinking about the thing.
- Honestly everything boils down to work longer and work smart. This is the only way to really understand and absorb.
